Hello and welcome too my new blog where I'll share with you my Yarn Journey.
I've been a knitter since the age of 8yrs old, I worked as a Professional knitter making Aran Jumpers for Japanese Tourist for a Giftware shop in a Winery in NSW not far from where we living at the time with 2 small children.
Each winter of course my kids had new jumpers, we moved from Sydney too Port Macquarie on the NSW mid north coast Xmas 1990. I knitted on and off but we found the winters not as cold as in Sydney and the kids were older and preferred too wear Track tops, early 1997 I was introduced too Patchwork, a craft that I've loved for many years but was happy knitting.
we moved too the Gold Coast late 2001, my obsession with patchwork grew and the needles were packed away.
over the last 2-3 winters I've really felt like knitting again and it wasn't till this winter I decided too take a step back with my patchwork and pick up the needles again, I've been on Instagram for awhile and then I found Podcast, knitting podcast which I was listening too late at night after work while stitching, well it wasn't long and I soon discovered Hand Dyed Yarns, so the yarn journey began, I re-joined Ravelry stocked up my yarn stash and the knitting hasn't stopped..

Sock Yarn & a New Podcast.

I started these socks on the plane recently, Knit Picks self striping and Pink hand dyed yard from Chandlers in Edinburgh, I did a 2 x row dbl moss stitch on the leg and a 3 row 2 x colourway on the foot.

I started a crochet scrappy blanket, I can't tell you the last time I picked up a crochet hook. lol
I've been watching knitting podcast where Andre from Andre Sue Knits was podcasting with Sue from Legacy Knits talking about their crochet blankets and using up their scrappy yarn, a lot of other podcasters have started a Cosy Memories Blanket which is made up of 2" mitred squares joining as you go, I did make a square but my OCD won't allow me too be frivolous with scrap yarn too add squares that may look too me like a Dog's Breakfast!..Don't get me wrong some of the blankets around are looking great but it's not for me and I've heard from some the same, but I am enjoying this crochet and I've started a little ritual of crocheting with my morning coffee, I had some lovely minis in my stash that are looking lovely, this way I can choose what yarn too add as I go....
I also discovered these two lovely ladies in a new podcast called ESPACE TRICOT, they both knit Beautiful Shawls Cowls and Hats check them out on YouTube....and Instagram.

Even  though I was heavily jet lagged last Monday I made an effort too drive 2 suburbs too my post box as I knew these were waiting for me, I joined a mini skein month club for January from Amber of Makers Haven Podcast, they are really cute but I found the 10grams isn't enough too crochet 2 rows of the blanket so I join them together....also if you want too see a great Video on joining yarn into a knot that won't move look up VeryPink Knits on YouTube Stacey has Great Tutorials on Knitting & Crochet.

I started a pair of long socks for my son who requested socks long enough too go into his ski boots for next xmas, let the magic begin..

Hope you are having a Great Day with Knitting or Stitching in hand.
